Plantation Park is located in Ayr in Far North Queensland, 90km south of Townsville.
The brief required Jeavons to design a major play space for the town that would:
– Attract local visitors as well as from further afield
– Have a strong natural character using materials such as timber, stone, sand, water, plant materials, terrain
– Reflect the local environment and cultural heritage of the site
– Be accessible and inclusive
– Provide for a range of age groups
The Destination park was opened in September 2019. The Jeavons design utilises local logs as major building elements for the custom designed structures all designed and documented by Jeavons.
