MARY JEAVONS FOUNDING DIRECTOR

Mary Jeavons is a Registered Landscape Architect and a Fellow of the Institute of Landscape Architects, with over 30 years’ experience.
As the Founding Director of Jeavons Landscape Architects, Mary provides leadership to a team with a core of expertise in landscape architecture applied to public settings of all kinds, and in particular to children’s spaces.
Her fields of interest and experience include the design of public parks, play spaces, school grounds, early childhood and early intervention centres, therapeutic environments and play strategies for whole municipalities. Mary has a particular interest in inclusive, accessible design, has written and presented extensively on this topic, and sits on a Play Australia Reference group on inclusive play space design.

BRUCE GRILLMEIER OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

Bruce has over 20 years’ experience in the playground industry. Bruce is a Director and senior designer at Jeavons Landscape Architects.
He has a range of skills, combining his experience in project management and documentation with a high level of ability in computer aided drafting. Bruce is experienced in producing playground concept plans, documentation of complex playgrounds and designs for individual components, and brings to this position his well developed artistic talents in sculpture and drawing. He has a thorough knowledge of the Australian Standards for playground and accessible design.
Bruce is skilled in working with both small and large client groups, committees and individuals to develop thoughts and ideas into workable concepts. He also has wide-ranging experience working with other professionals (architects, engineers, artists, council etc).

LEONG KHOO ASSOCIATE
BApp Sc (Landscape Architecture), RMIT University
Leong has been with the Jeavons Team for the past 14 years and has 20 years working in the landscape architecture profession.
Leong’s versatility and wealth of experience allow him to work effortlessly on different project of varying scales; from small pocket parks, regional playgrounds to large scale Master Plans. He always brings a creative, functional and value for money approach to his designs.

ANNE FOWLER ASSOCIATE

Anne’s role is in the delivery of a diverse range of landscape projects – from master planning to detailed design projects. Anne has extensive experience in managing the process through inception, consultation and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and project management. Anne believes it is incumbent on the team to gain an understanding of the aspirations of the client, the brief and the budget and to identify the needs and opportunities of each unique site and project.
Art, plants and planting design are a core interest of Anne’s, structured around built and planted materials selected for their robust and durable qualities; plant selection that is suitable to the site conditions and embodies intangible qualities of joy and beauty.

AMBER BELL LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

Amber joined Jeavons in 2021 with 5 years’ experience working as a Landscape Architect and Urban Designer. She has a variety of skills including design and documentation from master planning through to construction as well as project management.
Amber has a background in a wide range of projects including schools, public open spaces, regeneration works and residential developments, Amber enjoys projects that are challenging and encompass multiple functions and uses that reflect the needs of a specific community.

GRACE HONG LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT

Grace joined Jeavons in 2018. She has previously worked in architectural offices and is experienced in preparing presentations and documentation drawings.
Grace is interested in designing schools, kindergartens, early childhood centres and master plans. She is able to prepare designs and documentation packages through a systematic approach. Her studies in Horticulture and Architecture allow her to bring a different insight to designing landscapes.

BREE ELLETT LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT
Bachelor of Arts (Textile Design), RMIT 2013

Bree joined Jeavons in 2020 while undertaking her Master of Landscape Architecture. With previous experience working in design studios, Bree’s skillset allows her to work across design, presentations, reports, design quality, and project management.
At Jeavons, her practice includes consultation, master planning, concept design, drafting, design renders, and documentation, all underpinned by a keen interest in graphic presentation. This works extends across projects including schools, early learning centres, public parks, and play spaces.

GEORGE MARANTOS DOCUMENTER / BIM MODELLER

George joined Jeavons in 2017 and is an experienced Architectural Draftsman with a history of working in the architecture and building design industry. He has a variety of skills including in depth knowledge of ArchiCAD and Vectorworks, as well as experience in Sales, Creative Concept Design, and Landscape Documentation.
George previously served as an apprentice in the building industry and applies his acquired knowledge to preparing detail drawings. He has a good eye for detail and for presentation drawings.

LISA ABATE FINANCE ADMINISTRATOR
AdvDip Accounting
Lisa has worked in customer service for over 25 years, in industries as wide ranging as manufacturing, tertiary education and retail. Her personal interest in gardens attracted her initially to Jeavons Landscape Architects, where she has provided administrative support to staff and clients for over 15 years.
Lisa is trained in XERO, bookkeeping and business administration. She manages Jeavons accounts and financial affairs, invoicing, reporting and client liaison.

MELODIE THOMPSON OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATOR
Mel joined the Jeavons team in mid-2022 after working with high profile architecture practices in Melbourne and Central Victoria for the last 20 years.
Initially from a hospitality background, she has worked in large architecture practices in a variety of roles including corporate hospitality, product library management, reception, general admin and personal assistant to directors. Her administrative support skills have been honed for the design industry and she is keen to continue this with Jeavons Landscape Architects. Mel will work with Directors and staff to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the practice.

DANIEL BROCK LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE INTERN

Master of Landscape Architecture, RMIT University (currently studying)
Daniel joined Jeavons in 2022 while studying his Master of Landscape Architecture. He has previous experience working in a wholesale plant nursery, teaching, and labouring as a landscaper.
He has developed a broad skillset whilst studying, able to prepare drawings using Autocad, Rhino, Vectorworks and Adobe creative suite. Developing strong communication skills from his time as a teacher and building horticultural knowledge through the nursery.
OUR ACHIEVEMENTS
In order to protect our team members, clients, family members and other immediate contacts, Jeavons is implementing a preventative strategy in order to continue to work effectively for our clients while avoiding direct person-to-person contact.
We will continue to monitor advice from State and Federal authorities and will act accordingly.

The Sovereign Hill Playground was opened yesterday creating great excitement for visiting school children. The thematic playspace has been designed to cater for users of all abilities. It interprets the journey of prospectors arriving in Australia on a tall ship and moving luggage/passengers overland on a rocking horse coach. There is a water play area to represent traditional mining methods predating the arrival of mining technology, which is then represented by the poppethead. We are proud to announce that Bruce Grillmeier will become a co-director of Jeavons Landscape Architects. Bruce has worked at Jeavons for 17 years and is well known to our clients and colleagues. Mary and Bruce have worked in these roles for the past few years and now this partnership has been formalised. The new business structure creates a stable and sustainable future for Jeavons Landscape Architects.
