LEONG KHOO
DIRECTOR

B. App Science (Landscape Architecture), RMIT University (2002)

Leong has been part of Jeavons since 2007, contributing more than 20 years of landscape architecture experience shaped by a strong commitment to the people who use the spaces he designs. He draws on this depth of knowledge to lead diverse projects, creating environments that balance creativity, functionality, and meaningful value for communities. 

As Director, Leong leads the design team from early concept through to documentation, ensuring continuity of the Jeavons Design Philosophy that focuses on inclusive, people-centred outcomes. He listens closely to clients, colleagues, and community members, ensuring their voices guide the design process and shape the final outcome. 

Leong’s design thinking continues to evolve through time spent exploring play spaces with his own children. These moments give him firsthand insight into how environments spark curiosity, support learning, and inspire joy. His work spans public parks, play spaces, school grounds, and early learning centres, and he consistently strives to create places that feel welcoming, meaningful, and accessible for everyone. 

NAOMI BLASHKI

Naomi Blashki is a Registered Landscape Architect, with 20 years’ experience in the industry. Over her career Naomi has contributed to projects of all scales, from residential gardens to large infrastructure projects.  Naomi has considerable experience in managing complex projects, forming trusted relationships with key stakeholders, consultants and contractors.  Over the past five years Naomi has been responsible for delivering the life-cycle of new park and park upgrade projects for the Cities of Maribyrnong and Port Phillip.  

Naomi is a functional designer who respects sense of place and the integrity of natural ecosystems. Her technical interests include horticulture and integrated water management. She cares about creating quality and purposeful design that can be enjoyed over time.

Naomi joins Jeavons as Operations Director, with a great respect for the consultancy’s design philosophy and its decades-long commitment to creating meaningful spaces for people of all ages. 

MARY JEAVONS

Mary Jeavons is a Registered Landscape Architect and a Fellow of the Institute of Landscape Architects, with over 30 years’ experience. As the Founder of Jeavons Landscape Architects, Mary provides leadership to a team with a core of expertise in landscape architecture applied to public settings of all kinds, and in particular to children’s spaces.  

Her fields of interest and experience include the design of public parks, play spaces, school grounds, early childhood and early intervention centres, therapeutic environments and play strategies for whole municipalities. Mary has a particular interest in inclusive, accessible design, has written and presented extensively on this topic, and sits on a Play Australia Reference group on inclusive play space design. 

Mary will continue her role at Jeavons Landscape Architects during 2026, as the business transitions to having new directors. Following the transition, Mary will continue to support her active projects and the team in an advisory role, by mutual agreement with the new directors. 

BRUCE GRILLMEIER
OPERATIONS ADVISOR

Bruce has over 30 years’ experience in the playground industry. He has a range of skills, combining his experience in project management and documentation with a high level of ability in computer aided drafting.  Bruce is experienced in producing playground concept plans, documentation of complex playgrounds and designs for individual components, and brings to this position his well developed artistic talents in sculpture and drawing.  He has a thorough knowledge of the Australian Standards for playground and accessible design. 

In his role as Operations Director, Bruce has been fundamental in practice management of Jeavons Landscape Architects. As the practice transitions to new directors, Bruce will continue to contribute in a business management capacity.  Following the 2026 transition period, Bruce will stay connected to Jeavons Landscape Architects in an advisory role by mutual agreement with the new directors. 

ANNE FOWLER

Anne is a registered landscape architect with more than 20 years of experience, shaped by her work in multidisciplinary consultancies and local government. Her qualifications in Horticulture and Fine Art deepen her design approach, helping her create landscapes that feel grounded, expressive, and connected to the people who use them. 

Since joining Jeavons in 2008 as a Senior Landscape Architect, Anne has led and contributed to projects that support learning, wellbeing, and community life. She actively designs play spaces for schools, kindergartens, and early childhood centres, and develops detailed landscape plans and master plans for community hubs, public open spaces, residential environments, agedcare settings, and therapeutic gardens. 

Anne works closely with clients, educators, families, and community groups, ensuring their insights shape every stage of the design process. She prepares and presents master plans, develops conceptual designs, produces detailed documentation, and oversees contract administration — always with a focus on creating places that feel welcoming, inclusive, and meaningful. 

 
GRACE HONG

Grace joined Jeavons in 2018 and brings experience from architectural studios, where she developed strong skills in preparing presentations and detailed documentation. She approaches every project with care and clarity, using a systematic process to guide designs from early ideas through to final drawings. 

Grace focuses on designing schools, kindergartens, early childhood centres, and master plans, always considering how children, educators, and communities will experience the spaces she creates. Her studies in Horticulture and Architecture give her a unique perspective, allowing her to blend plant knowledge, spatial thinking, and a sensitivity to how people interact with their environment. 

She aims to create landscapes that support social wellbeing and gently blur the boundaries between natural and built environments, encouraging people to feel connected, curious, and at ease. 

BREE ELLETT

Bree joined Jeavons in 2020 while completing her Master of Landscape Architecture, bringing with her experience from design studios and a strong foundation in presentations, documentation, and project coordination. She works confidently across design, reporting, visual communication, and project management, always aiming to make the design process clear and engaging for the people involved. 

At Jeavons, Bree contributes to consultation, master planning, concept design, drafting, design renders, and documentation. She brings a strong interest in graphic presentation to every project, helping clients and communities easily understand and connect with design ideas. Her work spans schools, early learning centres, public parks, and play spaces. Bree is particularly passionate about landscape architecture’s role in creating equitable public spaces—places that balance practical needs with therapeutic benefits and positive ecological outcomes. She approaches each project with a focus on how people will feel, move, and interact within the space. 

Her background in textile design gives her a sharp eye for detail, composition, and colour, along with a commitment to sustainable practices and longlasting design solutions. Children’s insights never fail to inspire her. Consultation is one of Bree’s favourite parts of the role, where she listens closely to young voices and often finds joy and humour in their ideas. 

GEORGE MARANTOS

George is an experienced Documentor and BIM Modeler with more than eight years in the building and design industry, shaped early on by handson mentoring from a registered builder. His practical grounding and technical skillset allow him to work confidently across a wide range of project needs. 

George is highly multiskilled, with deep knowledge of Vectorworks, ArchiCAD, and Revit, and experience in sales, estimating, creative concept design, and documentation. He works fluently within common data environments and is adept at creating BIM models that integrate seamlessly with other BIM practices. In addition to providing IT support and training to staff, George can run a project from initiation through to construction, ensuring teams stay informed, supported, and aligned. He is currently leading the implementation of a BIM integration program that will transition Jeavons into a Level 2 BIM practice. 

George is passionate about delivering exceptional service to stakeholders, contractors, and consultants at every stage of a project. A natural people person, he approaches questions and challenges with a calm, steady manner, helping others feel supported while keeping projects moving toward key deadlines.
