UNICEF Malaysia undertook a pioneering collaboration with property developer Sime Darby Property, and the City of Elminah, to build their first inclusive playground, and commissioned a Toolkit outlining the design principles to guide other designers, developers and councils.
Jeavons Landscape Architects:
- Presented a seminar and workshop with all participants on inclusive design for play,
- Conducted collaborative design workshops with children and families living with disability,
- Designed the first accessible inclusive play space in collaboration with Lineworks and Space Landscape Architects, Malaysia,
- Compiled the Best Practice Toolkit Guidelines
The physical outcome of this project is the achievement of Malaysiaโs first accessible and inclusive play space, enabling many children with disability to play for the first time with thier friends and family in a public play setting.
