The Masterplan to redevelop the outdoor play area for Austin Child Care Centre was completed in 2013 and construction of all three stages completed in December 2016. Co-located on site with the Austin Hospital Campus in Heidelberg, the centre provides child care services to the hospital working staff.

Paul Trotter and Associates designed and documented stage one of the Masterplan.

Jeavons was then engaged to provide design, documentation and contract administration services for the rest of the outdoor play area, with Construction completed by Melbourne Landscape Company.

The outdoor play space was improved from the Masterplan and designed around the existing tree to include a sculptural nest structure, nature play areas, digging opportunities, sand pit and flexible programmable spaces.

The Client was thrilled with the outcome and has continued a high standard of maintenance of the plants and overall outdoor play area.
