Ku-ring-gai Council has a well-managed suite of playgrounds that constitute a major asset for the Ku-ring-gai community. Like all councils, Ku-ring-gai needs to manage this resource carefully because of the cost of both capital upgrades and on-going maintenance. To this end, Council engaged landscape architecture company to review the strategic direction of playground provision in order to make sure that the quality and distribution of play provision met the needs of the community and also to remain financially viable.

Craigieburn Gardens is a significant outdoor space located in the ‘older’ part of Craigieburn. The site is located on a former landfill site, adding another layer of complexity to the design process.

Glenallen school has just celebrated the opening of their very special new playground. Bendigo Special Developmental School caters for students with mild to severe intellectual disabilities. In 2006 they moved to a new site at Kangaroo Flat and our landscape architecture team were engaged to design the whole school landscape with a focus on the special play and educational needs of the students.
